Senior Product Owner

Remote (U.S. client, Colombia-based)

  • Backlog & Roadmap
  • Stakeholder Management
  • AI-Assisted Product Work

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner to join the delivery team of Kaldway Technology Group (KTG), a U.S. technology partner that builds and runs digital products for several clients at once, including e-commerce and consumer-health brands. You’ll own the backlog and roadmap for one or more client products, turning business goals and stakeholder requests into clear, developer-ready work, and making the trade-offs that keep delivery focused on what matters most.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role. You’ll work alongside KTG’s project managers, engineers, designers, and QA with U.S. time-zone overlap, and you’ll use AI every day to speed up discovery, refinement, investigation, and documentation — with your own judgment as the final check.

What You’ll Own

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the roadmap and backlog for one or more client products, prioritizing by business impact, ROI, technical effort, and user experience.
  • Define success metrics and KPIs with stakeholders, and use product data and customer feedback to adjust priorities.
  • Make and communicate trade-offs — including saying no, with a reason and an alternative — so the team builds what matters most.

Requirements & Backlog Craft

  • Turn fuzzy business requests into developer-ready work: epics, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Run discovery and refinement with engineering, design, and QA, and partner with UX on wireframes and user flows.
  • Map dependencies and risks early across teams and products, before they become delivery blockers.

Delivery & Release

  • Plan releases and coordinate rollout to production, including change control and release cycles across concurrent products.
  • Support the team through delivery: champion shift-left testing, validate features functionally, and flag slippage early with options.
  • Keep stakeholders informed with clear, honest progress updates and early warnings.

AI-Assisted Product Work

  • Use AI daily in product work — Claude Code, Jira AI, and similar tools — to draft stories and acceptance criteria, prototype ideas, summarize context, and accelerate refinement.
  • Build and improve AI workflows for the team, such as defect triage and root-cause investigation, with confidence levels and human review before anything is shared.

How You Work

  • Embedded in KTG’s multi-client model. You adapt cadence, format, and tone to each client and stakeholder.
  • Partnered with a project manager. A KTG PM triages and tracks delivery; you own the product side — what gets built, why, and in what order.
  • Plans, not just problems. When something slips, you come with options and a recommendation.
  • Evidence over opinion. You influence through data, prototypes, and trust rather than formal authority.
  • Transparent and team-aware. You avoid overcommitting the team, keep the board honest, and document decisions.

Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager on digital products, with real backlog and roadmap ownership.
  • Proven stakeholder management: aligning business and technical stakeholders with competing priorities, including executives.
  • Strong requirements craft: epics, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria that engineering trusts.
  • Experience with Scrum and agile delivery, including sprint and release planning across multiple teams or products.
  • Hands-on AI use in product work (e.g., Claude Code, Jira AI), with clear judgment about when to verify the output.
  • Comfort working with engineers on technical topics — defect reports, trade-offs, and system constraints.
  • Excellent English (C1+), written and spoken, for daily client communication.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a vendor, consultancy, or staff-augmentation model serving U.S. or European clients.
  • Building AI agent workflows, prompt frameworks, or skills and commands for a team.
  • Product analytics: SQL, Power BI, or telemetry and user-behavior analysis.
  • E-commerce, consumer-health, or regulated-product experience.
  • Scaled agile (e.g., Nexus) and coordinating several development pods.
  • CSPO or another Product Owner certification, and an engineering background (systems, industrial, or similar).

Tools

Jira · Confluence · Azure DevOps · Claude Code · Jira AI · Figma · SQL · Power BI · Slack

AI-First Product Culture

At NearShift, AI isn’t a side project — it’s how we work. KTG is moving toward agent- and skills-based workflows, and the Product Owner is central to that shift: you’ll use AI to move faster on discovery and refinement, help the team adopt it, and keep a human checkpoint on everything that reaches a client or an engineer.

Core Competencies

  • Judgment in prioritization — clear trade-offs, defended with data.
  • Saying no constructively, with a reason and an alternative.
  • Ownership of outcomes, not just activity — you know how your work is measured.
  • Clear, concise communication: the headline first, detail on request.
  • Empathy for stakeholders and for the team’s capacity.
  • Proactivity, continuous improvement, and AI-first thinking.

What We Offer

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on your experience and skills.
  • Full-time employment contract with NearShift S.A.S. under Colombian labor law.
  • Prepaid health plan (Sura).
  • A day off on your birthday, plus the Colombian holiday calendar.
  • Flexibility in vacations, schedules, and work policies.
  • USD 300 referral bonus for every referred candidate who joins NearShift.
  • Fully remote work with U.S. time-zone overlap, and access to cutting-edge AI tools and platforms.

Career Growth

  • Long-term placement with Kaldway Technology Group and the clients it serves.
  • Direct work with U.S. client stakeholders and leadership.
  • A hand in shaping how KTG uses AI across its product process.
  • A path to grow into lead product and product-management roles.

Hiring Process

  • Intro call (30 min). Get to know each other, the role, and KTG.
  • Soft skills & fit interview. Stakeholders, prioritization, saying no, and how you work — grounded in real examples from your experience.
  • Product & AI deep dive. Walk us through how you use AI in your product work, and a product result you’re proud of and how you measured it.
  • Final conversation with the KTG team.
